Dr. Chris van Ryswyk brings over a decade of experience in both public and private dental practice. He has a special interest in restorative and implant dentistry, having completed advanced education and training in this field. His expertise allows him to deliver high-quality, personalised care across a wide range of complex dental treatments.
At Dental.Affect, we provide a full spectrum of services designed to enhance the health, function, and appearance of your smile. These include general dental check-ups, same-day ceramic crowns created using advanced CAD/CAM technology, and custom-made oral devices for the management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. We offer both single tooth implants and full upper arch implant solutions, restoring smiles with precision and long-term stability. As well as thorough assessment and management of facial and jaw pain. In addition, our aligner-based orthodontic treatments offer a discreet and effective way to straighten teeth. Our commitment to long-term oral health is reflected in the regular family check-ups and preventive care we deliver, all with a strong focus on patient comfort and individualised attention.

MEET
DR CHRIS VAN RYSWYK
Director & Principal Dentist, Dental.Affect
Chris commenced his studies towards his degree in dentistry at the University of Stellenbosch and graduated in 2007. He served in South Africa for one year in the rural public service prior to relocating to Torquay with his wife in 2008. He established Surfside Dental (Torquay) in 2013, which was the first of a new wave of private dental clinics in the Surfcoast. Following the successful sale of Surfside Dental in 2024, he relocated to Geelong and established Dental.Affect mid-2025.
Outside of the clinic you will find Chris and his wife mountain biking with their three boys or supporting them next to the sport field coffee in-hand.
